Pre-Ministerial Internship Program
The Pre-Ministerial Summer Internship Program is coordinated through the Pro Humanitate Center and the Office of the Chaplain. This unique program is designed to give undergraduate students, who are discerning a call to Christian ministry, an opportunity to practice ministry in a variety of ministerial settings in the Winston-Salem area. The Pre-Ministerial Internship Program offers personal and financial support, as well as reflects the university’s mission: "in service to humanity." Selection to the program is based on a competitive application process.
The Internships:
- Are open to undergraduate students who have not yet completed their degree requirements.
- Are designed for students who are discerning a call to Christian ministry in a variety of settings including: church/parish, retreat ministry, faith-based nonprofit, or chaplaincy.
- Require an eight week commitment from June-July, including a 40-hour work week. One day a week will be reserved for mentoring and reflection on the Wake Forest University campus.
Program Benefits:
- Orientation, experience, vocational formation, and mentoring.
- $3,000 stipend (before taxes).
- Weekly theological and vocational reflection with ministry and community leaders, Wake Forest University professors and staff, and other interns.
- On-site mentoring from program facilitators
Assistance provided in locating summer housing. Please note, however, that it is the responsibility of the student to secure and finance his/her summer housing.
